KAMPALA — Chief of Defence Forces Muhoozi Kainerugaba has urged Ugandans to embrace unity, patriotism, and collective responsibility, describing his 52nd birthday run as a symbol of national solidarity and support for vulnerable communities.

The message was delivered on his behalf by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa, who represented Gen. Muhoozi as the Chief Runner during the event.

Speaking at the function, Tayebwa said the birthday run was intended to move beyond personal celebration and instead serve as a platform for national service, togetherness, and community support.

He noted that Gen. Muhoozi believes the initiative reflects the importance of citizens coming together to support those in need while strengthening bonds of unity across the country.

According to the message delivered by Tayebwa, the CDF emphasized that national progress can only be achieved when Ugandans work collectively toward shared goals, regardless of political, religious, or social differences.

The event attracted participants from different sectors, including government officials, security personnel, youth groups, and supporters, many of whom praised the initiative for promoting fitness, social responsibility, and public engagement.

Organizers said proceeds and support generated from the run would contribute toward assisting vulnerable communities and supporting charitable causes.

The birthday run formed part of activities marking Gen. Muhoozi’s 52nd birthday and highlighted themes of patriotism, unity, and community service.
