KAMPALA — Police in Katwe Division have foiled an alleged aggravated robbery attempt at Nesta Petrol Station along Salaama Road in Salaama Parish, Makindye Division, Kampala.

According to police, the operation followed intelligence reports received on April 26, 2026, indicating that a group of suspects was planning to carry out a robbery attack at the fuel station.

Security personnel attached to the Katwe Police Division reportedly responded swiftly to the information and mounted an operation that led to the arrest of three suspects before the alleged robbery could be executed.

Police also recovered four pangas believed to have been intended for use during the planned attack.

The suspects are currently being held in police custody as investigations continue.

Authorities said more details regarding the case and the identities of the suspects will be released upon completion of preliminary investigations.

Police have commended the quick response of the task team and urged members of the public to continue sharing timely information that can help prevent crime in communities.
