Both with a business and investment mindset, President Yoweri Museveni and local billionaire investor Hamis Kiggundu aka Ham have been in the UAE trying to discuss business and investment opportunities where they successfully held engagements with government officials and the business community in a bid to strengthen Uganda/UAE bilateral relations and cooperation in trade and investment.
“I am humbled and really honored by his excellence the president to discuss UAE business partnerships for Agro-processing, value addition and setting up Ham Agro-Bank in line with social national collective development from a reasonable and realistic point of view.” A grateful Ham noted.
With his focus on Agro-processing, Value addition at the Ham Agro-Bank, Ham says majority of Ugandans will become direct beneficiaries and participants in the development of our motherland” before summing up with “For God and My Country.”
The president also addressed the UAE-Uganda Presidential Initiative on Investment Summit in Abu Dhabi, and appealed to the business community to come and invest in Uganda and take advantage of the many untapped opportunities available in the country.
“I paid a courtesy visit to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, we held bilateral talks aimed at cooperation in the areas of cultural exchange, science, economy, tourism, environment among other fields.” Museveni said upon arrive at Entebbe International Airport for the UAE.
The President and Ham were at the invitation of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan the President of UAE & ruler of Abu Dhabi.
Together with other stakeholders like Ham the contingent from Uganda discussed, on top of business and investments, how to confront the problem of climate change and strengthen collective action for a sustainable future.
