The rift between Fufa chairman, Magogo and proprietors of local football clubs is not about to end despite the intervention of Minister of Education and Sports, Mama Janet Kataha Museveni. The differences emerged following the introduction of three-legged format which was again reversed n October 18,2025 to embrace one format suggested by Soccer Club Vipers’ Dr Lawrence Mulindwa, a key stakeholder in both education sector and local football whose demands attracted the eye of the Ministry.
Recently, Fufa actions attracted criticisms with fans threatening to boycott football after allegations emerged that Fufa President had ushered in new arrangement to force his way into getting alternative sponsors Unfamiliar to StarTimes, Magogo’s new arrangement that includes a third fixture which StarTimes would have no control has been firmly rejected by Investors, Government and football lovers in country
