Namanve, Uganda — Staunch Machinery has strengthened its position as a key player in Uganda’s industrial sector following a high-level inspection visit by Robert Mukiza, the Director General of the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), at the company’s factory in Namanve Industrial Park.

During the visit, Mukiza toured the manufacturing facility and commended the company for producing high-quality equipment under the “Made in Uganda” initiative, highlighting the factory’s contribution to industrial growth and economic transformation.

Officials at Staunch Machinery said the visit reflected growing confidence in Uganda’s manufacturing sector and the country’s ability to locally produce industrial and agricultural equipment that meets international standards.
The company noted that its factory is the first of its kind in Uganda and East Africa to manufacture a wide range of agricultural machinery, power generators and construction equipment locally.
According to management, the investment is aimed at reducing dependence on imported machinery while promoting technology transfer, skills development and employment opportunities for Ugandans.
Mukiza reportedly expressed satisfaction with the level of innovation and progress being registered at the factory, describing the development as a positive step toward advancing Uganda’s industrialization agenda.
Industry stakeholders say local manufacturing remains central to Uganda’s vision of expanding exports, strengthening value addition and supporting sustainable economic growth.
Located in the rapidly growing Namanve Industrial Park, Staunch Machinery continues to position itself as a strategic player in supporting agriculture, construction and energy sectors through locally manufactured equipment.
The company says it remains committed to promoting industrial excellence, innovation and reliable machinery solutions while contributing to job creation and investment growth in Uganda.
