Kampala International University Western Campus officially swore in its 12th Guild Union on Monday, April 27, 2026, marking a peaceful transition of student leadership at the institution.
During the ceremony, H.E. Antony Tuhumwire was sworn in as the new Guild President, succeeding the 11th Guild Union administration. The event was attended by university leaders, students, and members of the incoming guild cabinet.
In his inaugural address, Tuhumwire pledged to lead an inclusive administration founded on discipline, unity, and equal representation for all students. He emphasized that his leadership would serve the interests of the entire student community without segregation.
“I will lead a cabinet that listens to every student and promotes unity across the university,” Tuhumwire said shortly after taking oath.
Tuhumwire also made history as the first Guild President from the School of Law at KIU Western Campus, a milestone that was widely applauded during the ceremony.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted in line with university procedures and officially ushered in a new student administration committed to teamwork, transparency, and accountability in leadership.
University officials tasked the new Guild Union with maintaining discipline, strengthening student engagement, and promoting cooperation between students and the university administration.
The peaceful handover was praised as a sign of democratic maturity within the institution and a reflection of KIU-WC’s commitment to nurturing responsible student leadership.
