KAMPALA — Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja this afternoon launched the Humanitarian Assistance Grant Project, an initiative aimed at strengthening humanitarian response and supporting vulnerable communities across Uganda.
The launch was attended by Hon. Ministers Eng. Hilary Onek, Lillian Aber, and Okello Oryem, as well as Mr. Fan Xuecheng, Chargé d’Affaires ad Interim at the Chinese Embassy in Uganda.
Speaking during the event, Prime Minister Nabbanja said the project, which is supported by the Government of China, will help address urgent humanitarian challenges while also promoting sustainable recovery and resilience.
“The project will address immediate humanitarian needs while laying a firm foundation for long-term resilience,” the Prime Minister said.
She commended the continued partnership between Uganda and China, noting that the support demonstrates a shared commitment to improving livelihoods and strengthening humanitarian interventions in affected communities.
Mr. Fan Xuecheng reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Uganda’s humanitarian and development priorities, highlighting the strong bilateral ties between the two countries.
The Humanitarian Assistance Grant Project is expected to bolster relief efforts and enhance community resilience among populations facing humanitarian pressures.
