Kampala, Uganda – May 1, 2026 — It was a day filled with celebration, emotion and inspiration as Nathan Kasozi was officially installed as the 5th President of the Garuga Rotary Club during a glamorous and memorable ceremony that members described as a true reflection of “Garuga Love.”
The colourful event, held on May 1, brought together Rotarians, friends and supporters in an atmosphere of unity, resilience and commitment to service above self.

Speaking after his installation, Kasozi reflected on the challenging yet rewarding journey that led to the successful event. He revealed that he accepted the presidency three years ago, believing there would be enough time to prepare for a smooth installation ceremony.

However, as 2026 approached, personal commitments and logistical challenges nearly forced him to scale down the event into a simple fellowship gathering.
“At one point, I felt we could only have a fellowship as my installation,” Kasozi said. “But every person I shared this thought with encouraged me not to give up and assured me that together we would make it happen.”
Despite financial uncertainties, tight timelines and key organising members being out of the country just weeks before the ceremony, preparations pressed on. Kasozi said the club had already committed funds to service providers, making it impossible to back down.
With determination, he personally reached out to friends and club members for support, calling at least 10 people every day to mobilise resources and encouragement.
“Last week, the funds started coming in very fast, and suddenly everything fell into place,” he said.
The result was a spectacular and classy installation ceremony that exceeded expectations and marked a major milestone in the club’s history.
Kasozi now takes over leadership under the club’s inspiring banner: “We are Garuga, Club of Reference.” He pledged to lead with impact, engagement and a commitment to creating lasting change within communities.
“Better is better than good,” he noted. “Each one of us must engage for impact and work towards creating lasting change.”
Members praised the successful event as a testimony to teamwork, friendship and the strong spirit that defines the Garuga Rotary Club.
