Kampala, Uganda – May 4, 2026 — The President today chaired the final Cabinet meeting of the outgoing government, marking the close of a tenure credited with steering Uganda into middle-income status.
Following the meeting, the President hosted Cabinet members to a luncheon in appreciation of their dedicated service and commitment to national development.
In his remarks, the President commended ministers for their collective efforts, noting that their leadership and policy decisions played a key role in advancing Uganda’s economic transformation.
“This is the Cabinet that ushered Uganda into middle-income status,” he said, expressing gratitude to all members who contributed to the milestone.
He also extended special appreciation to the Cabinet Secretariat for effectively managing the business of Cabinet throughout the government’s term, ensuring coordination and continuity in decision-making.
The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on achievements, challenges and lessons learned during the administration’s time in office.
The President concluded by thanking all Cabinet members and wishing them success in their future endeavors.
