KAMPALA — The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretariat has extended support worth Shs30 million in kits towards the upcoming MK 52nd Birthday Run, in a move aimed at boosting participation and mobilizing Ugandans around a shared national cause.
The support was announced on Wednesday during a visit by the NRM Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, to the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Secretariat.
Rt. Hon. Todwong also personally contributed Shs10 million towards the initiative, reaffirming the ruling party’s support for activities that promote patriotism and community engagement.
Speaking during the visit, Todwong congratulated the organizers and participants of the run, noting that the event plays an important role in uniting Ugandans, especially the youth, around patriotism, community service, and national values.
“This initiative brings people together for a common cause and helps strengthen the spirit of patriotism among the youth and the wider community,” Todwong said.
Organizers of the MK 52nd Birthday Run welcomed the support, saying it will help facilitate preparations and increase public participation ahead of the event.
The annual run has continued to attract supporters from across the country and is promoted as a platform for community mobilization, health awareness, and national unity.
